Haiku Samples - John W Laird

Haiku Samples - John W Laird

I sought for nothing
But a golden light was seen
Faint in the silence

Emptiness is not
Nothingness. What a hard edge
Emptiness implies

How define nothing?
Such the vanity of man
There is no such thing

In the Cold Garden
I am in doubt of Nothing
Nothing is not there

I sought for nothing
Despite long search found nothing
No, not anywhere

Nothing makes demand
For something to define it
So our snake eats tail

The deep gulfs between
The stars, are not nothingness
Just separation

T'is nothing, she said
They talk of nothing, they said
It's nothing, he said

The Cold Garden is
Austerely beautiful. No
Hint of nothing there

The first volume of John W Laird's 'Food of the Gods' poetry series is available for Kindle now. The publication of this first book in the series culminates years of intent from myself as editor to see this work into publication. Life gets in the way of the most lofty of ambitions and this project has been no exception, but now the end is clear and the first step has been taken of which many more will follow. JW Laird is a prolific poet and as such has many fine examples of his work just begging to be released upon Kindle readers worldwide - that is my ongoing project and will ultimately culminate in a print publication, titled 'Collected Works of John W Laird.' As this is primarily a labor of love, a realistic publishing date can only be aimed for and broadly so as sometime between 2013 and 2014.
Enjoy (and remember to share).

Available from Amazon now

Welcome to John W Laird's site, dedicated to his literary works and where you will find links to his available published works. My name is William Cook and JW Laird has given me permission to edit and publish his written works. His titles will be available on Amazon for Kindle to begin with and will hopefully be available in 2013 in print format in a 'Collected Works' edition. Please share this blog and http://www.johnlaird.net/ and make sure to share with friends and family to spread the word about JW Laird's wonderful poetry.
